I. If it was a poem, “Habit, habit; faster than the rabbit”

They form a cornerstone of development. One that pivots the person to success or doom. Good habits alleviate losses when the going gets tough. People discover habits through knowledge & experience.

We pick habits from our habitat where good citizens are born out of good societies. Surely circumstances play a role but adopting habits is voluntary. Though it may be a high-energy task when odds are not in favour but doable.

II. Putting it on ‘silent mode’

That would be my excited inner critic. It’s the voice that shuts off only when it's time to yawn. It loves yapping to I let it chatter out like a waterfall — much like my beaten sedan that failed emissions test. I don’t expand on the critic noise & keep my foot off the thinking pedal.

My mind is light and headed like a paper bag drifting in the wind. I’ve stopped taking anything at heart & ignore immediate thoughts from toxic discussions from toxic people. You don’t owe life a moment of worry and you define the direction, not life.

III. Self-esteem is an artificial construct

How are the rich different from the poor? They carry themselves as important. But, what is self-esteem? To me, it is an artificial construct of your imagination. This is based on how you perceive your role in society. If you carry yourself as someone important, people would perceive you as important simply. A rich man could be slapping a buzzing fly in his limo but step out to a throng of admirers. That’s because his possessions paint a picture of an important man.

IV. Calm like a river.

This is a mother principle. No matters how rough life gets, never lose the state of calmness. In this state, your heart syncs with the rhythm of a calm &fresh flowing river. Calmness is that covenant that must not be broken. Take things slowly, respond after a 3-second pause, don’t be afraid to say ‘No’, and do not overthink. Acknowledge that anxiety & stress are normal. Inhale & exhale to calm the turbulence of your heart.

Calmness has benefits:

  • Eradicates stress.
  • Builds a robust temper.
  • Builds the capacity to accept criticism.

You’ll come across many more benefits in your journey to calmness. Your focus will improve, you’ll learn better and recall faster.

I wish you good.
